Milena Gierke: Journeys Through Time and Space

Berlin-based filmmaker Milena Gierke’s films are characterised by a spirit of enquiry and wonder. Diverse in form, her work ranges from formal experiments with time and interval to bucolic, poetic responses to nature and landscape; explorations of architecture; and longer-format diary films. Working exclusively with Super 8 film, editing in-camera and even projecting all films herself, Gierke’s almost ascetic artistic process produces a direct and celebratory vision which might otherwise be lost or submerged.

Milena Gierke will introduce and project her work.
