 Interior Worlds
Gareth Evans (UK) with Marjut Rimminen (UK), Jim Trainor (US) and Naoyuki Tsuji (JP) Animation can plumb the depths of the subconscious, recounting dreams and perceptual phenomena far beyond the reach of live-action film. It can speak direct to us on a liminal, emotional, experiential level and convey the complexities of what it is to be human in a similar way to literature or painting. How can the manipulated moving image tell us more about ourselves? Can it reveal certain truths more readily than ‘straight’, live-action film?
