Tickets + passes
Online box office availability
Both single tickets and festival passes are available to buy from our online box office from early autumn until 17.00 on Monday 10 November 2008, when it will close. Subject to availability, tickets and passes can be bought after this date at Cinema City. The number of single tickets for any one event available from the online box office is limited, and sales will transfer to the cinema box office once the online allocation is exhausted.
Collection of tickets / passes
All tickets booked on the AURORA website will be held at the festival box office for collection, where they will be available for collection from 9.30 on Wednesday 12 November. Upon arrival at the festival, you will need to show the credit/debit card used for the booking along with appropriate ID if you've purchased a concessionary ticket / pass.
Festival passes: changes to type
Should you need to change the type of pass you have bought and there is no difference in price (for instance, changing a day pass for Thursday for one for Friday), we will make the change free of charge if notified by 17.00 on Friday 7 November 2008. Where there is a difference in price, an administration fee of £1 will be charged to cover the additional costs of the transaction.
After 17.00 on Friday 7 November, we are unable to change passes.
Festival passes: changes to names
If you have bought a festival pass but need to change the passholder's name, you may do so as long as (a) you notify us of any change before 12.00 on Friday 7 November 2008 and (b) if you have bought a student pass, the new passholder is also a student.
Festival passes: refunds
If you have bought a festival pass but no longer wish to attend the festival, we will refund 50% of the original price if notified before 17.00 on Friday 7 November 2008. After this date, we are unable to offer any refunds.
Single tickets: refunds
We regret that we cannot offer refunds for single tickets, but can transfer them to other events where available.
Void tickets / passes
Other than pre-agreed changes to festival passes or tickets (see above), they are not transferable and are automatically void if altered, defaced or copied.
Venues
Latecomers
The seating of latecomers is discretionary. We will always try to admit latecomers but the nature of some events means that we cannot always do so. Please aim to arrive slightly early for all events.
General disclaimers
AURORA and/or venue staff reserve the right to refuse admission to any patron and request that any patron leave the venue.
AURORA reserves the right to change the advertised arrangements of any event in the event of illness or any cause beyond the cause of the management.
Photography, video and audio recording
Photography is permitted in some screentalk or panel events but never in film screenings. Permission should be requested at the point of entry.
Audio/video recording of any performance is prohibited.
Film classification
Due to the fact that short film is not classified by the BBFC as with feature films, we are unable to provide official age limits for programmes. All programmes therefore carry a nominal 18 certificate but we can provide advisory ages, for parents to use at their discretion, where necessary.
